Context Mediation
Performative Cultural Context Mediation is an investigation in new ways of seeing, learning and understanding cultural contexts in African and African Diaspora art.
The project aims to raise awareness and provide absent contextual narratives behind African artworks, promoting such art for both Swiss and African communities. It advocates for new ways of seeing, learning, and understanding through performative interventions that address spatial and cultural contexts.
What visual concepts and design strategies prove useful in expressing, reflecting, mediating, and reinterpreting cultural context in African/African Diaspora art?
What communication strategies can mediate/enhance/support the understanding cultural context through open space performances?
These are the two main research questions. That formed the basis of my master thesis.
